Guest Designer Wednesday!

Hello Friends and Welcome to my blog! :)

It has been a while since I posted since I am so busy...lol...so let's get to it...I  have a wonderful guest designer today ...Lucy Kelleher....very talented lady and she has wonderful skills that I have admired for awhile now and today she is here!! woohooo! :)  Lucy has a wonderful blog  Love 2 Create it All  ...so make sure you give her some love and check it out too! :)

So take it away Lucy! :)

So today I'm the Guest Designer over at Purplefuntastick Creations!  I was asked to create a project around a Faith Verse.  There are so many to choose from, but I was finally able to narrow it down to a verse from Jeremiah:

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.  Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you.  You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.”
- Jeremiah 29:11 - 13

I decided to create a 9 x 9 layout with my verse.  I'm going to find a frame for it to go in so that I can hang it up in my house.  Before I tell you how I made it, let me show you some pictures:

For my 9 x 9 mini layout I decided to use a paper pack from Close to My Heart called "Florentine".  I love the colors in this pack but felt they wouldn't overpower or take over the layout and the verse that I am using.  I used the zip strip from the top one of the papers for the sentiment on the lower right of the layout "remember  - the journey - then and now".

The butterfly and the hearts come from the Florentine My Stickease Assortment.

I cut the two ovals using the fabulous Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge:  the oval on page 42, C2, < Oval3 > cut at 4" x 7" (fit to length) and the scalloped oval from page 52, D2, < Oval4 > cut at 5 1/2" x 8" (fit to length).

I also used two stamp sets on my layout.  I used a stamp from Eclectic Edges on the right hand side of the layout and I used a stamp from Love Life to stamp the image above and below the verse.

I hope you enjoyed today's project - love reading your comments!
Thanks so much Kari of Purplefuntastik Creations!  I enjoyed creating this project as your Guest Designer.

Have a great day!
Lucy :)

Isn't this great! Lucy did a great job and I am so glad she was able to be my guest designer...been wanting her to do this for a long time....hehe...thanks Lucy! and please come back again...Friends as always thanks for stopping by! :) Have a blessed week and check back Friday and Saturday when I am in the Tsunami Rose Blog Hop! :)

PurpleFuntastick Creations Guest Designer - May 21, 2012

Hello Friends and Welcome to my blog! :)

Been having problems with my good old computer and therefore had to resigned from my DT duties till I get a new one when this gets ready to die....I am sad but I will be back so in the mean time I can't post my own for awhile but I can do others so with that being said ...Welcome my good friend Lynne Kirsch!! :) a fantastic and funny designer whom I love she is so sweet! so don't forget the Love and thanks for coming by.....

Today, I’m a Guest Designer for Kari at PurplefuntasticCreations. Her theme is anything goes … you better watch when you give me “free
reins” LOL!!! Well, my dear friend Kimberly is on Tsunami Rose Design Team and
challenged me to try one of Tsunami Rose’s sketches. Well, it went from there
and I went with May Sketch #16.

The paper I used was from my Couture’ DCWV but had cut the
bottom of the paper off with all the mannequins. Found a cute vintage digi on the internet and loved the hat with fur which I colored (practiced) with
Spectrum markers. The ribbon is a gorgeous butterfly ribbon which was purchased from Michaels. The lace is a cluny which was on the bottom. I added a little bling bling on the top with the 3 rhinestones.

Here is the sketch that I had tried to duplicate:

Here is my project --- tell me what you think . . .

God Bless
and thank you for stopping by
Hugs, Love,

DT Post for a Challenge Sketch fromTusnami Rose May 6 2012

Hello Friends! and Welcome to my blog! :)

Today is the 6th day of my DT post for Tsunami Rose! Today's sketch was a fun challenge for me I am finally getting into my mojo and not agonizing over it but enjoying the process now and settle down a bit...here it is and go check it out!..thanks to Daisy who does these wonderful sketches for us each day...we will be doing one everyday so please check in everyday and I have email that you can sign up for to keep up...hehe...and don't forget to check out the Tusnami Rose blog! :)  Don't forget to check out the FB Page as well...great stuff! :)

Daisy also has a shop if you like to check out her stuff to buy and she has wonderful things at (http://www.zibbet.com/tsunamirose)  You will see more of her stuff in a few days on other cards I have done...so come back!! :)

Here is today's sketch challenge:

Here is my take on it: :)

Recipe:
I used a brown card stock this time an A2 size and used a printed scrap from my pile *don't you love paisely!!* and then I used a ribbon I had in my ribbon pile...the brown leaves and it is one of my faves! :) wrapped it around the card 4 times and taped each end behind it, then use a plain chocolate ribbon to make a bow and put a sticky sparkle on it and glued it to the card then I cut leftover cardstock and cut some squares to give it some color to break the print and use the Verve sentiment I have on it. Voila! :)

I hope you like the card and for once I didn't agonized over it...hehe...it was a fun challenge and I am starting to relax and enjoy the process and posting everyday! :)

Don't be afraid to be challenged and get out of your comfort zone, you may surprise yourself! :)
Thanks for stopping by and giving me some love and till tomorrow...come back again to see the next day challenge.

In His Love,
Be Inspired,
Kari
